Bush Telegraph

Welcome to the Bush Telegraph!

The Bush Telegraph is a quarterly rural publication that started in the early 1970s at Waitaria Bay School as the Kenepuru Chronicle. Over the years, it has continued to entertain and inform readers with stories of life in the sounds along with many lively letters to the editors about issues facing sounds residents and our precious sounds environment. It features cartoons and drawings, recipes, gardening tips, travel commentaries, historic anecdotes, community notices, safety briefs, local advertising, a buy/sell/swap page and much more.

The content is largely driven by contributions from the community and it is this dedication that has kept the Bush Telegraph alive all these years, along with a changing guard of enthusiastic and creative editors who have volunteered their time to keep it going.

The Bush Telegraph is proud to be part of the support network in Pelorus Sound and hopes to continue to be a vital link in dispensing information and entertainment in the community for many years to come.
